The value of art transcends simple production and imitation of images; it is an embodiment of an individual aesthetic influenced by cultural, social, and historical context. Art is humanizing, it is born from human experience, and its value lies in the emotional resonance, academic innovation, and the layered meanings we weave into the piece.

With the advancement of Artificial Intelligence, Artistic Creativity can be reassessed through the merging of human storytelling with technological capabilities. By advocating for an authentic touch, a personal narrative that eclipses the technical aspects of AI, these series of pieces aim to redefine the relationship and tension between humans and machines, as well as explore its impact on language and visual expression.

A Walk

A Walk is a media installation utilizing AI as a means of integrating Romantic, human-evocative elements on a digital canvas.

To create a unique, personalized style for the image output, a wide collection of photographs of the natural scenery and cityscape of Providence were used to train and adjust the parameters (LoRA models) within Stable Diffusion. Presented on a CRT television, the images on the screen change in response to the corresponding words of Sonnets, inspired the experience of taking a walk in Providence.

The images of the animation were also categorized and decontextualized in the form of hand-made flipbooks. Together, they serve to encapsulate technology within the frame of an antiquated medium, experimenting with the manipulation of ‘AI Aesthetics” and influencing the audience’s perception of AI images.
